WT Lai

Principal


Dr Lai has over 20 years of design experience in rail infrastructure, earthworks and other civil infrastructure environment. Some of his previous experience attained while working 7 years in the United Kingdom, where he contributed in projects such as Crossrail, refurbishment of Bond Street and Victoria station, Dubai Metro- Green Line and Gautrain– Johannesburg South Africa.

Dr Lai attained his PhD at the Leeds University United Kingdom and is a registered PE (Geo) in Singapore and a chartered engineer from UK. He is currently appointed as Division Head of Geotechnical Division at WSP, whereby he actively oversees several MRT project such as Thomson Eastern Coast Line, Jurong Regional Line, Cross Island Line and other commercial projects running in Singapore.

Ricky Nagatie

Senior Engineer


Ricky obtained his Bachelor of Engineering degree (Civil) in NUS under the accelerated programme. He then continued his research project on 3-dimensional analysis of deep excavation at University of Toronto where he obtained his Masters of Engineering (Civil) with High Distinction in 2013.

Upon graduation, he joined HDB and has worked for five years, mainly involved in geotechnical and major infrastructure works. Currently, he is the coordinator for piling works of all HDB BTO projects. He coordinates the pile design reviews, pile optimization reviews and on-site pile audits to ensure QPs’ foundation designs are safe as well as cost-effective and comply with Authorities’ requirements and code of practices. He has carried out many in-house studies/researches and spearheaded initiatives, such as Rapid Load Test, Jacked Spun Pile and GNSS in Pile Surveying Works to improve construction productivity, safety and environmental sustainability. He is a representative in HDB Specifications Review Committee and has actively contributed to various technical working groups both within and outside HDB.

Dr S.Sreenath

Project Director


S.Sreenath is a geotechnical engineer with 34 years of experience, specialized in piling works. He has extensive experience in the construction and testing of bored piles for various landmark projects in Singapore including the Tanjong Pagar Centre. Initially employed by Gammon Construction Ltd, he is presently employed by Zap Piling Pte Ltd, in charge of all piling projects.

Ir Dr Tony Chen

Technical Director, Head – Foundations & Deep Excavation


Dr Tony Chen is a Technical Director with Arcadis, based in Hong Kong. He is a chartered engineer both in Australia and Hong Kong, and has over 28 years’ experience in civil engineering design, construction and project management. Tony has designed deep foundations to support tall buildings and cut & cover tunnels located in several countries and regions including Australia, China, Hong Kong SAR, the Middle East and Singapore. He has published a number of technical papers on geotechnical and tunnelling topics.

Sivaram Thirumoorthy

Senior Geotechnical Engineer


Sivaram Thirumoorthy is a Geotechnical/Tunnelling Engineer with 12 years of progressive university education from basic civil engineering to advanced tunnelling and over 16 years of diversified international work experience in the civil, geotechnical and tunnelling industry.

His notable qualifications are 2nd level International Postgraduate masters in tunnelling and tunnel boring machines from Politecnico di Torino, Italy and MSc. in Rock engineering and underground structures from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi.

Sivaram specialized in underground metro projects, involved with various metro projects around the world. He managed few major underground metro projects from early concept design stage to construction stage.

Currently, he is working with Beca New Zealand and providing geotechnical solutions to major infrastructure projects.

Andrew Forsythe

Principal Engineering Geologist


Andrew joined Mott MacDonald in the UK as a graduate geotechnical engineer in 2004 and after five years based in their Manchester and London offices he transferred to Mott MacDonald Singapore. He has been based in Singapore for the last eight years and is currently Principal Engineering Geologist. During his thirteen years at Mott MacDonald, Andrew has worked on a broad range of projects in industries including buildings, transport, and power throughout Asia, Australasia, and Europe, primarily focusing on ground characterization and geotechnical risk for foundations and underground infrastructure.

Andrew been the geotechnical lead on a large number of projects involving foundations and deep excavations from master-planning and prefeasibility stage to detailed design and construction supervision, with selected examples including MRT stations in Singapore and Australia; power stations in Vietnam and Indonesia, and tall buildings in New Zealand.

Andrew Yeow

Head - Geotechnical


Ir. Andrew Yeow graduated from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) with Bachelor of Civil Engineering in 1990. He is currently the Head of Geotechnical in MMC Gamuda KVMRT Sdn Bhd for the Sg Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya (SSP) Line Project. He has over the years gained wide experience in design, construction supervision and design management in a wide range of large scale infrastructure projects, especially in geotechnical and tunneling works. Some of the projects he had been involved are KESAS Expressway, LDP Highway, Penchala Tunnel, Sg Selangor Dam and diversion tunnel, the SMART tunnel, Electrified Double Track Project between Ipoh and Padang Besar and KVMRT SBK Line.

Gabriel Leung

Senior Manager


Mr. Gabriel Leung, a Singaporean and originally from Hong Kong who came to Singapore in early 90s. When he was in Hong Kong, he worked in Hong Kong Housing Department and served several housing estate with big population. It was actually at that time, Mr. Leung was exposed to vast building maintenance problem; concrete spalling, external wall and roof leakage, part of building under differentiate settlement etc are some typical problems in this area. All these taught and shaped Mr. Leung to have strong determination to do something good to raise the standard of the construction industry, even though it could be just a small portion.

As Senior Manager of Cementaid Group, Mr. Gabriel Leung is now responsible for the Singapore, Malaysia as well as Brunei Markets. His main role is to handle collective financial and risk management strategies of Cementaid Group to ensure the Cementaid waterproofing admixtures and surface treatment products are meeting the market expectations and needs.

Mr. Gabriel Leung has been working in Cementaid for more than 20 years, his vast technical knowledge in concrete waterproofing and durability enables him to win over a strong trust from various Consultancies, Developers, Concrete Suppliers as well as various Government Authorities in many countries. His completed waterproofing projects include more than 35 MRT stations in Singapore, the KPE tunnel, the Suntec City as well as the recent completed Resort World Sentosa project and many more residential, commercial and infra-structural works in the Region. Mr. Leung’s innovative ideas always welcomed by Contractors as well as Developers for higher effectiveness, value engineering and time saving.

Mr. Gabriel Leung studied Civil and Structural Engineering in the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He also studied Marketing and graduated from La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia.
